August Eating Seasonally Health Lifestyle

Eating Seasonally: in August we eat melon

I’ve been super focused lately on eating seasonally and locally. In Switzerland we’re lucky enough to get amazing produce grown right here in the country, and I’ve decided to fully embrace that. That might mean giving up bananas and avocados for the time being, but hey, with deliciously sweet berries and stone fruit freakin everywhere, I can’t complain. This month I’ve decided to focus on melon. Cantaloupe melon is an amazing source of vitamin A & C while having anti-inflammatory properties. Honeydew melon is rich in potassium (so ciaaaoo nanas, hello honeydew ๐Ÿ˜‰ while watermelon is hella hydrating (perfect for hot summer days since they’re over 90% water). So all in all, go grab some melons (can’t say that with a straight face), and dig in. If you’re looking for some inspo on what do with them, check out my recipes and ideas below!ย

Hi, I just discovered your blog a couple of weeks ago…I think we might have friends in common as well… Switzerland is small ahah
Anyway really interesting topics! Following you and Wholesomestef really motivates and inspires me to be more active and strive to an healthier (and above all less lazy) lifestyle!
Today I stumbled across this article, kind of related to this post, but more relates to the one about you quitting the vegan lifestyle. It is really brilliant and written by a girl who studies agroecology…she knows what she’s writing about ๐Ÿ˜‰ It also focuses especially on agriculture and farming in Switzerland.
